Description

AL-J is an excellent respiratory formula designed to relieve sinus and upper respiratory congestion associated with allergies. Mullein, found in most respiratory formulas, is commonly associated with respiratory problems. It contains mucilaginous substances that protect the mucous membranes and prevent them from absorbing toxins. The cooling and softening properties of mucilage lubricate tissues, reduce inflammation and promote healing.

Allergic reactions are often caused by the liver's inability to neutralize certain substances in the body that eventually cause an immune response. An allergen is a substance recognized as foreign to the body by the immune system.

• Helps relieve symptoms of flu, bronchitis and nasopharyngeal catarrh, such as muscle aches and congestion due to respiratory mucus.

Traditional uses of the herbs in this formula include:

• Horseradish root is used to stimulate sweating. It also acts as an expectorant, increasing mucus production to remove allergens and other toxins. It is also used to relieve hoarseness, sore throat, as a sialagogue (increases saliva flow), and as an antiseptic.
• Mullein leaves have been used for relief of respiratory mucosa and to control dry coughs.
• Fennel - an aromatic and carminative herb used to relieve colic.
• Eupatorium - a stimulating and febrifuge herb used for fever.
• Fenugreek - a mucilaginous herb used to soothe mucous membranes. Fenugreek has been used traditionally as an expectorant and mucilage to relieve irritation of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract. Also used as an emollient (which soothes irritated tissue, especially mucous membranes).

Directions for Use

Dosage : Take 1/2 to 1 tsp (2.5 to 5 ml) every 2 to 4 hours. Children should take only half the recommended dosage (1 ml 3 times a day).

Medicinal Ingredients: Each teaspoon contains Armoracia rusticana (horseradish) root 152.15 mg of a 2:1 extract, Eupatorium perfoliatum (boneset) herb top 152.15 mg of a 2:1 extract, Trigonella foenum-graecum (fenugreek) seed 152.15 mg of a 2:1 extract and Verbascum thapsus (mullein) leaf 152.15 mg of a 2:1 extract.

Non-medicinal Ingredients: Glycerin, purified water and Foeniculum vulgare (fennel) seed extract.
