Punch cards to save your vacation or pedago days!

Description

Living full time during the vacations or (try!) working from home on pedago days comes with its share of irritants. To deal with these parenting annoyances, I decided to set up an ingenious reward system to put some positivity into our day and also to repeat less.

With this original idea from Caroline Savard, you will find 5 challenge cards to punch to keep your kids busy!

READING
This first card is mainly aimed at filling those 24 too long hours of their vacation day. As a bonus, it will help them keep up with their reading, even in the summer! Here, I'm giving one punch for every 15 minutes of reading done.

PETS
Do you have one or more pets at home and tell your kids over and over again to take care of them? Motivate them to take care of them independently with this little reward card.

MATHEMATICS
My kids have always had trouble remembering their math tables. Now I motivate them to do a little each day with Meteormath, on the Alloprof website, and this punch card!

CHORE
Is the house upside down? Take advantage of the extra manpower to get some chores done! This card can be used to motivate kids to do weekly chores or to help you with some sporadic tasks. Use Minimo's My Little Helper magnets!

Directions for Use

Use only one challenge at a time per child. Giving out all the cards at once might discourage your minis (and we don't want that!).

As with the loyalty cards, the child gets a punch on their card each time they complete the challenge.

When the sun is punched out, he or she gets a small reward (previously chosen with the child)!

How do I choose privileges?

Choose privileges that will motivate your children and that match your family values.  Here are some winning ideas that usually work well:

• A little massage;
• Baking a dessert of their choice;
• Going to the creamery;
• A sticker;
• Double helping of dessert;
• A game of one-on-one with mom or dad;
• Choice of dinner.
