The immunomodulatory capacity of Bifidobacterium longum and Pediococcus pentosaceus has been studied to assess their ability to induce the expression of IL-10, an anti-inflammatory cytokine. Both strains could induce the production of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10, but the highest expression was observed in the presence of Pediococcus pentosaceus. The combination of Bifidobacterium longum subsp. longum (KABPMC-042) and Pediococcus pentosaceus (KABP™-041) has beneficial effects on infant intestinal health, has excellent adherence to the gut, and has anti-inflammatory properties. A decrease in daily crying time was observed in breastfed and bottle-fed infants who received this combination compared to placebo. Another clinical study found a 69% decrease in the duration of crying in infants given the probiotic combination of Bifidobacterium longum subsp. longum (KABP™-042) and Pediococcus pentosaceus (KABP™-041)14. The decrease in crying and fussiness suggests a reduction in colic symptoms and improved comfort for the child and, in turn, quality of life for the parent.

Dosage:

Infants and young children (1 to 36 months) : Take at least 2 to 3 hours before or after taking antibiotics. Instructions for adults : Shake well before use. Pour 5 drops (0.25 mL) into your child's bottle of milk or a (10-15 mL) beverage of choice and allow your child to drink once a day.
