A cousin of the wintergreen, whose name comes from the Canadian botanist J.F. Gaulther, the fragrant wintergreen is known to fight muscle pain. The essential oil, obtained by distillation of the leaves, is highly concentrated in methyl salicylate (99%). Its smell is very characteristic of the balms used in the field of sports medicine.

Therapeutic use:

Used in aromatherapy to temporarily relieve aches and pains in the
muscles and joints associated with back pain, lumbago, contusion, strain/sprain and
arthritis pain.

Usage tips

Topical (Adults) Mix 1-2 drops in 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) carrier oil; apply locally 3 times a day.
