Take advantage of the vital principles of clay with green clay compresses.
Always use unboiled water. Clay can be prepared for several days at a time. Discard clay after use.
Use a hollow vessel made of enamel, clay, wood, glass or earthenware, but never use plastic or metal except stainless steel.
Place approximately 1⁄2 cup (125 mL) of clay in the container.
Always retain a little dry clay in case the overly liquid mixture needs to be thickened*.
Add unboiled water until the clay forms a firm paste.
Leave to rest untouched for about 1 hour. The paste should be smooth, well blended and not too thick; just right so as not to run.
*It is preferable for the mixture to be slightly liquid, as it is easier to add clay to thicken than water to lighten the mixture.
100% surfine green clay (montmorillonite).
Do not use during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Keep out of reach of children.
Used in compresses, green clay is also ideal for beauty masks for oily and problem skin.
