Medela Supplemental Nutrition System (SNS)

Description

The SNS opens up breastfeeding to mothers who would not otherwise have been able to consider it, and helps the baby to refine its sucking behavior. It offers the following advantages:

• It can be used by mothers whose milk production is insufficient or who feel that it is.
• It helps stimulate the mother's milk production, as the baby sucks at the breast.
• It can be used when a nutritional supplement needs to be added to breast milk.

The SNS is a reservoir filled with nutritional supplements. It can be placed on the mother's chest or suspended from a gallows. The very thin, flexible tubes attach along the nipples and release extra milk and food supplements when the baby sucks.
