A combination of eye-healthy nutrients that help nourish the eye for optimal function!
Description
A combination of herbs and nutrients proven to protect the eyes and reduce free radical damage.
Feature Overview:
- The active ingredients in bilberry are part of a group of flavonoids called anthocyanosides. These are powerful antioxidants that prevent free radical damage. The most promising research shows that bilberry extract improves night vision, facilitates the eye's adaptation to darkness and restores visual acuity after exposure to glare. Other studies reveal that bilberry extract also helps people suffering from nyctalopia, i.e. an inability to see clearly in bright light. Multianthocyanidins are a complex extract of plant flavonoids that are powerful free radical scavengers.
- The standardized extract of multianthocyanidins is derived from berries, such as blueberries, cranberries, elderberries, grapes, raspberries, strawberries and, of course, blueberries.
- Euphrasia is a plant of choice for the eyes. An extract of the whole plant is used, and a compress of the decoction will curiously give quick relief from redness, swelling and blurred vision in cases of acute and sub-acute inflammation of the eye. However, euphrasis is not reserved for external use. Although its mechanism of action is unknown, euphrasis extract taken internally also has ocular benefits.
- Carrot juice powder - carrots are rich in beta-carotene and provide essential vitamin A for the eyes.
- Rutin is a bioflavonoid that facilitates the absorption and retention of vitamin C, an important free radical scavenger. Bioflavonoids have a beneficial effect on the highly vascularized area of the eye and increase resistance against infections.
- Quercetin is a naturally occurring flavonoid and antioxidant that helps prevent free radical damage.
- Lutein is naturally present in the macula and lens of the eye where it prevents photo-oxidation. There is some evidence to suggest that additional lutein is protective against these eye disorders.
